Caterpillars to Butterflies

Today was the day that our Caterpillars were ready to be released into the wild. We have watched the process of tiny Caterpillars, grow and grow, turn into a cocoon and then pop out as beautiful Painted |Lady Butterflies. Each and every one of us also got the chance to hold the Butterflies and we were very excited.

Cattle Country Trip

Last Friday, we had an amazing trip to Cattle Country Adventure Farm Park in Gloucestershire. Our visit included a walk and talk along the Farm Trail, a tractor and trailer ride, and we got to interact with and learn about a variety of animals in the Animal Experience Centre. Everyone had lots of fun feeding the animals including Lambs, Deer, Calves and Goats. We also got the opportunity to stroke Guinea Pigs and Chickens. All the children were really brave and lots about the farm animals. Take a look at the fun we had below... 

Butterfly Workshop

Reception had a Butterfly workshop last week and learnt lots of information about different species of Butterflies and Moths. We got the opportunity to look at some caterpillars who were munching away on leaves, starting the process of their life cycle to turn into a butterfly. We also got to observe the features of Moths and we looked at these closely through magnified bug jars.
