REPB visit Reception

On Monday the 22nd October, the RSPB came to visit Reception to look at habitats in our school grounds. First we listened to a story about a ladybird and then we headed outdoors to find bug habitats. We found a range of bugs including spiders, ladybirds, woodlice, centipedes and many more. We collected them into viewing pots and shared our findings with our friends. It was great exploratory morning, take a look at what we did below...
We got to observe the features of a bumblebee.

                                                                                         "I found a worm, it's really wriggly."

A giant harvest spider was found!

Reception Police Visit

The Reception children were delighted to be visited this week by two local PCSO's. They children were very keen to try on the Police hats and they particularly enjoyed the opportunity to sit in the Police car, listen to the siren and watch the flashing lights.

Reception Writing

In Reception we have all been mark making and some children have been giving meaning to their marks. Lots of children have also been discussing marks in our environment. We have been drawing, painting, using chalk and making shopping lists in the home corner. Take a look below...
Learning to write a tall stick.

"A picture of Rapunzal, my favourite girl."
"a swirling, whirling snowstorm from our bear hunt story."
